The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards was jam-packed with so many amazing and talented artists this year. The awards show was held on January 6, 2020, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It also recognized the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year. Alicia Keys hosted the ceremony, having hosted the previous year’s ceremony as well.

Many artists recieved awards such as Lizzo with the most nominations of any artists with eight, followed by Billie Ellish and Lil Nas X with six each. Ellish and her brother Finneas recieved the most throughout the night with 5 wins each. Upon this, Billie Ellish became the first artist to win the major four categories of the Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist in the same year since Christopher Cross in 1981. There were also many performers throughout the night ranging from Ariana Grande to even Blake Shelton and his wife Gwen Stafani.

The awards show was held the same day as the death of the basketball player Kobe Bryant, who played for the Los Angeles Lakers. Several tributes to Bryant were made throughout the entire night, including a performance of “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday” by the host Alicia Keys and Boys II Men, while Lil Nas X, Lizzo and Dj Khalid all incorporated tributes to Bryant into their performances as well.
