Journey Home Bingo Fundraiser

Journey Home Bingo Fundraiser

Kelby Crawford

The Journey Home in Dewey, Ok hosted a Bingo night a couple of weeks to help raise money for daily operations. At the fundraiser, they gave away 50 gift baskets, had 8 homemade crock pots of chicken noodles, 52lbs of chili, 30 pizzas, and homemade baked goods for the guests to enjoy. The Journey Home also had help from Dewey’s Ag Teacher, Mr. Epperson, and his students. They helped set up set-up and clean up, with parking and during the event inside.

By the end of the night, no food was left over, over 800 people attended and over $15,500 was raised after expenses. “This is our second year having the bingo fundraiser. Both years have been successful. The community has shown up each year to support The Journey Home. We are looking forward to next year.” (Kristal Fowler, Journey Home worker) The Journey Home is a non-profit charitable organization that relies solely on the generosity of others. They do fundraisers like these to help make it possible for some guests to receive the services provided but offset the cost to them and their families. If you are ever feeling generous, I would recommend stopping by The Journey Home. It’s going towards a great cause and you won’t regret it!
