The Italian “Stallion” Takes a Win With the Team!

Sara Zorzan

This Tuesday was a memorable day for the Dewey High School Cross Country team who continued to bring home hardware at the Inola meet!

This happened thanks to our Italian Stallion, Sara Zorzan, who won the 1st place medal out of nearly 60 junior and senior runners!! Her time was an outstanding 13.35 minutes for 2 miles, and we can say proudly that she had a large distance from the other competitors. Senior Cherisa Sears also placed 13th in the division with a time of 15.10, and Freshmen Kayah Weathers brought home the 18th place medal in the freshmen and sophomore division, with a time of 15.25.  Overall, the girls Dewey Cross Country team continues to impress!

As for the boys, they run a 3-mile race. Unfortunately, none of the boys medaled, but Colby Miller got 21st with a very impressive result! Congratulations, also, to the other boys who showed their strength and perseverance during the race!!

The Inola meet will be remembered for a long time!! But now the athletes are continuing their hard work in preparation for the State competition!! You can do it Bulldoggers…so LET’S GO!!
